TSMCThe annual net profit per share of Nanke 14B plant (Fab 14B) is less than 0.08 yuan due to the prospects for the downward revision of this quarter. Industry estimates, TSMC this timewaferThe scrap volume is as high as 100,000 pieces. Almost the total production capacity of the plant in one month has to be redone, which is much higher than expected. It also affects the shipment of Huida, Hess, Salings and other large customers, and affects the trend of the global electronics industry.

Industry sources pointed out that although TSMC has announced that the loss of wafers in this incident will be repaired in the next quarter, which means that the client should have acquired the wafers at a given time, it is bound to be unable to obtain them as scheduled. This incident, mainly affected by the first-line factories such as Huida, Hess, Salings, covers important applications in the electronic industry such as graphics chips, mobile phones, and the impact deserves attention.

Until the deadline, the response of TSMC customers could not be obtained. The industry believes that the global electronics industry is currently affected by many negative factors, such as traditional off-season, bottlenecks in the sales of high-end smartphones, and uncertainties in the US-China trade war. "Business is difficult to do." If the TSMC incident affects the customer delivery schedule and affects the global electronics industry ecology, it may make the relevant industry face the problem of "off-season is even weaker".

Economic Daily provided that the Taiji Nanke 14B plant, which had a photoresistor defect, could produce 100,000 tablets per month. The main processes were 16 nanometers and 12 nanometers. Among them, Huida produced more than 10,000 tablets. After close collaboration with customers before the Lunar New Year, TSMC's decision-makers considered that the company should bear the greatest responsibility. Originally, they thought that some of the affected wafers could be re-exposed to customers. Therefore, the initial estimate was that the number of discarded wafers would not exceed 20,000.

Taiji Telecom announced last Friday (15) that due to the impact of the incident, its combined revenue will be reduced from 7.3 billion to 7.4 billion US dollars, down to 7 billion to 7.1 billion US dollars, a decline of about 3%, affecting more than NT$9 billion. Gross interest rate and profit rate will be reduced by 2 percentage points simultaneously, with gross interest rate from 43% to 45%. The downward revision is 41% to 43%, the profit rate is from 31% to 33%, and the downward revision is from 29% to 31%.

TSMC did not disclose the number of scrap wafers. The legal person calculated the price of each chip sold by advanced manufacturing process of TSMC Nanke 14B at US$5,500. It estimated that the quoted chip was close to 100,000 pieces, which is equivalent to almost all wafers that TSMC put into production in one month. It also highlighted the short-term profit of TSMC in order to gain customers'trust.
